What is a Declaration of Compliance?
The declaration of compliance is a mandatory online submission that employers must complete to confirm they have met their legal duties regarding workplace pensions.
This declaration must be submitted to The Pensions Regulator within five months of the employer’s staging date or duties start date. The declaration provides evidence that the employer has established a compliant workplace pension scheme and accurately reported all necessary information.
Although the responsibility for completing the declaration lies with the employer, they may authorise a third party to do so on their behalf. Failure to submit the declaration on time or provide accurate information may result in a financial penalty.
